Istanbul is filled with different interesting places for every desire you may have. If you have a cultural itch to satisfy, Istanbul is full of amazing museums. One of the more interesting museums is the classic cars museum in Istanbul. Rahmi M. Koç Müzesi is a museum that you must experience while you are in Istanbul.
Although the Rahmi Koç museum is famous and known for its classic cars, it's not the only thing it has to offer. Rahmi Koç, the person who is responsible for gathering this amazing collection in Istanbul, had a collection fever so to speak. He has collected everything historic and opened it up to the public to be viewed. By "he collected everything" I actually mean it! When you explore the museum, you can find classic hand made canoes, early 18th century factory machinery, trains and locomotives, classic cars of course, all the way to Ataturk's underwear. Yes, his underwear. Don't believe me? Here it is!
I'm not going to go into everything in the museum, since you have to experience it yourself to enjoy it first hand. But, one of the displays that i enjoyed the most was the cats! It is Istanbul after all, so, cats are everywhere.
Yes, I did enjoy the cats a bit too much. Another thing that i enjoyed was the fact that each exhibit had an English info card as well. Other than that, the interactive exhibits were fun too.
How much is the ticket to Rahmi Koç museum?
If you have a kimlik card, it is only 120 TL per person. However, if you are a tourist, the price is 300 TL per person. Of course, you can access this museum with muze kart.
One thing to note is that the gift shop is not in the museum itself. If you want to buy a souvenir, the gift shop is accessible from the parking lot of Rahmi Koç museum.
