The Red Tower was built during the 13th century, specifically between the years 1226 and 1227, by the Seljuk Sultan Alaaddin Keykubat. The purpose of its construction was to protect the Alanya Harbor from potential naval attacks. The tower was strategically positioned at the edge of the peninsula, providing a clear view of the Mediterranean Sea and the surrounding area.

The tower gets its name from the red bricks used in its construction. Its cylindrical shape stands at a height of around 33 meters (108 feet) and has a diameter of about 29 meters (95 feet). The exterior of the tower is adorned with decorative masonry, including ornate carvings and inscriptions.

Inside the Red Tower, there are five floors, each connected by a spiral staircase. These floors were initially used as living quarters for the guards stationed at the tower. Today, the tower serves as a museum, showcasing various artifacts and exhibits related to the history of Alanya and the surrounding region. Visitors can explore the museum and enjoy panoramic views of the city and the coastline from the top floor.
