This recipe is super simple! It has literally 5 ingredients and the end result is this buttery, delicious, orange flavored Turkish delights. Since oranges are abundant in this season, you might have all these ingredients in your home right now.
Ingredients:
240 ml (1 cup) orange juice
Zest of 1 orange
200 g (1 cup) sugar
120 g (3/4 cup) corn starch
Pinch of salt
½ tsp (10 g) butter
How to make orange flavored Turkish delights step by step:
1. Start by zesting 1 orange.
2. Juice enough oranges to have 1 cup or 240 ml of juice.
3. Add the zest, juice, sugar and corn starch to a pan and mix until combined.
4. Put on low heat, stir constantly!!! it will take a bit of time, but it will start to thicken.
5. Once its a bit thick like cream, add a pinch of salt ad 10g of butter and stir it in.
6. Keep cooking it on the low heat until a dough-like consistency is achieved!
7. put it in a rectangle shaped dish lined with parchment paper.
8. Wait until its cooled completely then remove from the dish.
9. Start cutting into cubes
10. Coat the cubes in granulated sugar for easier handling
Tip for cutting the Turkish delights: These orange flavored Turkish delights can be very sticky! So, dip your knife in hot water before and after each cut to have lovely clean cuts.
