- Despite the fact that you signed up for an English course in your university, classes might be held in Turkish! It is also common for professors to ask if there are any foreigners in the class and by doing so, making you stand out on your first day there. Although this might add to your cool factor among your peers, it can also add to the stress of being a foreigner student.

- Professors and classmates alike might have a hard time pronouncing your name! if you are a foreign student in Turkey, and your name is as foreign as you are, you have to prepare yourself to hear some Turkified version of your name.

- Turkish people are very hospitable, so don't be surprised when your classmates bring you food and treats to introduce you their culture.

- The hospitality of Turkish people means that they will also enquire about your life. questions like where you come from, what do you do, and how was your life back home etc. will be asked of you. This is especially true if you come from a small foreign country which they never heard of.

- Turkish university's campus is a very nice place to make lots of friends. Many of the Turkish students are welcoming and kind. You'll have lots of opportunities to mingle and create wonderful experiences for yourself.

- During the holidays, most of the Turkish students will go to their hometowns to visit their families. This will leave the foreign students alone in the dorms and on campus.
