There is a saying nowadays in Turkey that: if you want to buy a house, you must dab! Not really, but it helps to get to know what Döviz Alım Belgesi or dab is! 
Thanks to the new laws of purchasing property in Turkey, you can no longer purchase your new home with USD or Euro. If you want to purchase a property in Turkey, you must pay for it using Turkish Lira. Therefore, you need to exchange your currency to Lira. When you do this exchange, you will be provided with a receipt known as Döviz Alım Belgesi or dab.
This exchange will be taken care of in the Turkish banks. The bank will exchange the currency you are carrying, transfer it to the sellers account and give you your dab! You have to have the Döviz Alım Belgesi inorder to receive the deed of your house.
Funny enough, even if you dont want to purchase jack in Turkey and just want to invest, you still need to exchange usd and euro into lira and get a dab for it otherwise you'll get in trouble later.
