    Where is Alacati located?

At a distance of 75 kilometers west of the city of Izmir, which is one of the most important ports in the west of Turkey, and at the entrance of the Cheshme Peninsula from the coastal areas of the Aegean Sea, there is a small town that is unique due to its houses, alleys and stone passages. It is now the destination of many tourists from all over the world. The distance between this small town and the coastal city of Cheshme is 10 km and it is located 2 km from the long and wide beach of Ilija in the north and Alacati Bay in the south. History of Alacati city

Getting to know a city's history sometimes adds to the experience. In ancient times, a village called Agrilia was part of the Ionia region, which is considered one of the Western Anatolian civilizations. After that and in different historical periods, this area came under the influence and rule of many tribes and governments. But the current situation of this city is the migration of the Greek population from the Greek island of Chios, located a few kilometers from the Aegean Sea in 1830. They settled in this village and began to cultivate vineyards and olive groves and began to dig a channel from the village to the southern bay of the region, which led to the development and prosperity of production and trade in this village. Between 1850 and 1890, with the construction of houses, alleys, stone passages and windmills, this village developed more than before and took the form of a city. Resident Greeks know the city as Alatzata and Turks and tourists know it as Alaçatı.

    Where can you stay?

Many of the old stone houses of the city are used by tourists as inns, hotels and residences. Because most of the hotels in this city are traditional, old and special hotels (boutique hotels) the cost of staying in them is higher than other hotels of the same category in other areas of the Cheshme Peninsula. Serving a varied, delicious, healthy and colorful breakfast is one of the services of most inns, hotels and residences, which is a favorite of many tourists. If you insist on staying in modern hotels with all facilities, go two kilometers north or south and stay in one of the luxury hotels on Ilija beach or around Alacati port and pier. But if you want to reduce your accommodation costs by half, go ten kilometers to the west and choose one of dozens of central hotels in Cheshma city. All beaches and surrounding areas can be reached by regular transportation lines, such as vans (dolmuş) and taxis.
