Summers used to be fun, then we had to go ahead and ruin our planet, so now summer is just a scorched earth DLC. Europe was hit by this DLC, which took everyone by surprise. Middle east however, is no stranger to heat. And now it seems, its Turkey's turn.
The scorching weather affecting the Aegean and Mediterranean regions in the west and south will also engulf the inner regions of Anatolia and eastern cities. Temperature is expected to go above 40C (104F) between Wednesday and weekend! TSMS issued a warning for the southeastern region in particular where the heatwave is expected to easily go above 44C. Şanlıurfa, known for its sweltering summers, will see temperatures fluctuating between 40 and 43 degrees Celsius up until Sunday while neighboring Diyarbakır will experience temperatures between 40 and 42 degrees Celsius in the same period.
Elderly and children should probably stay inside during the heatwave between 11am and 4 pm.
What about animals in the zoo you might ask? Zoos in the region are planning to give the animals ice cocktails and treats so they can cool off as well
