Libraries are an important part of every city. Turkey has opened its biggest university library in Istanbul on august 12. 
resident Recep Tayyip Erdoğan inaugurated the Istanbul Medeniyet University Library on AUG 12, the largest of its kind in the country. This vast library is 28,000 square meters and can host 3,000 people. The new library is 7 stories tall and can hold 1 million books. Designed as a smart building with multiple accessibility options, it hosts group study rooms, conference halls, prayer rooms and other social venues. Visitors will also be served free tea, coffee and cookies. The library will also host conferences.
Turkey has more than 32,000 libraries and these libraries host more than 34 million books. People of turkey love these libraries too apparently because 15.6 million people visited them last year.
