The city of Van is far from western Turkey and therefore travel to it by bus or car is not recommended. The train is also not a good option, because it takes a long time as well, so it is the best option to travel to Van by plane. Turkish Airlines flies daily from Istanbul to Ankara twice a week.

Van is a relatively small city and its means of public transportation are buses, minibuses and taxis, the prices of which are as follows :
    Minibus 1.5 lira
    Bus 1.5 lira
Taxi (direct and short routes) 10 lira
Taxi (long distances per kilometer) 3 lira

    Bus
Van buses run several times a day to Ankara, Istanbul and major Turkish cities. You can find out the price and time of tickets by visiting the "Kamil Koc" website .
The Dolmus, or minibus, also runs regularly from downtown Van to Tatvan, covering a distance of 100 km in 2 hours.
