Tis the season of Mosquitoes, bites, and itchiness. Mosquito situation in Turkey has gotten so bad that the government has issued warning for people! The mosquito situation is specially bad in Istanbul.


People are getting hospitalized from mosquito bites in Istanbul. I know, when I first heard it i thought well maybe its malaria that is causing this, but nope. People can't handle being itchy in Istanbul. Hospitals in Istanbul are reporting cases of people that have skin itching and swelling. aww, my heart.

My sarcasm and lack of sympathy for mosquito bite victims aside, Turkish government also advice people coming back to turkey from abroad that if they have been bitten, and have symptoms such as fever, headache, muscle pains or fatigue to go to the hospital as it can be malaria.

It is also advised to stay away from open waters, and change the pool water more often. Also wear long sleeved clothes, mosquito nets and yellow light bulbs.
