Istanbul is a busy city, so busy that it's traffic is infamous world wide. so its not a surprise that finding a parking space is an issue in Istanbul. Now, when you are going to a shopping mall, the last thing on your mind should be if parking is available or not, or is it free or you have to pay an arm and leg for parking? 
Well, lets cut right to it. Parking in Istanbul's malls should be free, but we don't live in should-land. the parking in malls should be free for up to 3 hours at least according to the city laws. The parking might charge you these days up to 35 TL for even half an hour! which they do it cause they take advantage of the lack of knowledge of the customers. "This is illegal and a violation of the rules. Additionally, these malls often announce different schemes to attract customers, such as, 'shop at our store, and earn a discount on the parking or earn free parking" said the Consumer Confederation President Aydın Ağaoğlu.
How can you help stop this abuse?
All you have to do is file a complaint to Alo 153. if no complaint is made, the officers of the municipal can not do their jobs. You do not have to pay for parking in a freaking mall.
