    Is there volcanic activity in Turkey after the earthquake?

    After the earthquake hit, there are some concerns that there is threat of volcanic eruption and activity now in Turkey. But is it true?

    Lately, the above picture has become somewhat trendy on the web. People are claiming it is evidence of a small volcanic eruption and the color changes are the evidence. But like everything else on the internet, there is more to it.
    This mountain is known as Balıklıgöl or "Pool of the Prophet Abraham". Experts say that there is, 41 kilometers below the surface, a slurry of stones that are melty and nice around 2,200 C. However, The thickness of the area means that there won't be an eruption.

    It is said that what we see on the picture as evidence of volcanic eruption, is the trail of falling limestones! "The geology of the region is not compatible with volcanic activity, and it may have been a landslide-related complication."

    So, that's that, I guess.
