Karagol, or spelled correctly Karagöl , is a landslide lake located 26 kilometers away from Artvin. It is located in Borcka Lake nature park. The lake hosts 10K people annually.
The lake emerged when the Savgule Valley was covered with landslide material cut from the slope. The waters accumulating in the landslide section formed by Savgule Stream formed two lakes, one big and the other small. The bigger one is 50 acres and small one is only 7! The depth of the lake varies from 30 meters ti 8 meters.
