If you have been staying in turkey lately, you must have noticed that almost everyone is getting sick. Our own family have been hit with the respiratory disease which reminds me a lot of Covid. However, The department of infectious diseases at Ankara university says something else.
According to the department, this sharp increase in number of infected is typical when we enter spring from winter in Turkey. This spring fever causes upper respiratory tract disease when the weather keeps shifting in march from cold to warm and back to cold. The Department of Infectious Diseases at Ankara University's Faculty of Medicine noted that this viral infection is not an epidemic! A simple way to protect yourself and others is to wear face masks, but if you take one step outside, not a single person is wearing masks. Which explains why during the mask mandates this seasonal disease was very minimal.
"Currently, the most frequent infections we see are influenza (flu), Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), rhinovirus, adenovirus and COVID-19. There has been an increase of approximately 20% in outpatient clinic applications in our hospital recently,"
Just like covid, social distancing and stay away from the infected is your best bet. Also, you should know that there are medicine available for this disease, so please, go to your local doctor and get checked out. if its not covid, you can be treated and you wont infect anyone else.
Unfortunately, people have already forgotten that we are in a pandemic and stopped giving a flying ... about others.
