Turkish university exam to be held in earthquake hit provinces 2023

The nationwide Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) will be held in southeastern Turkey's hit provinces. So, before this announcement, it was decided that the YKS exam wont be held there, however, the Assessment, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) revised that decision. Despite the previous worries regarding the safety of the students, ÖSYM decided that their goal is "for students living in the region to take the exams without any security-related issues." Now, if the demand is higher than the capacity of the earthquake hit regions can provide, the students can take the exam anywhere in Turkey as well.

The YKS exam will take place on the weekend of June 17-18. As an academic myself, I dont know how the earthquake hit students will perform in the exam, but i do wish them the best of luck.
