These lovely flowers officially known as crown imperial are also called upside-down tulip or crying bride! These tulips cover the fields of Turkey every spring. The unique flower, which blooms for up to 20 days a year, is ubiquitous in some parts of the region. The flower is usually endemic to higher ground and remains in bloom until mid-May, a period that varies based on weather conditions. When these flowers bloom in their region, it is a true sign of spring for the locals! You might be tempted to pick one of these upside-down Tulips! You must resist your urges though.
The upside-down Tulips of Turkey are protected by law and you can be fined for picking them.

How much is the fine for picking the upside-down Tulips?
Last year, it was $7,389 (TL 109,593)! A high amount already, however, Turkey's authorities thought that amount should be raised, so in 2023 the fine for picking the upside-down Tulips is 244,315 Turkish Liras, or $12691. So, no you can not pick the hanging tulips.
