Istanbul is a big ever evolving city. every day there is a new building being built, new projects unveiling and new plans being drawn to make the city more efficient. Now a new tunnel is being worked on that will connect the Asian side to the European side of Istanbul.
I was not aware of the other 2 tunnels, but this new tunnel will be the third tunnel of its kind apparently. The third tunnel will be named the "great Istanbul tunnel" will be done by 2028 it seems. It will be able to accommodate 1.3 million passengers daily. This tunnel will help with the traffic between two sides of Istanbul. right now, 2 million passengers cross the Bosporus on daily. the length of the tunnel will be 28 kilometers. it will reduce the travel time to 42 minutes when constructed.
There are also plans to integrate metrobus lines into the new tunnel as well.
