Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated, 'During this season, the express will complete a total of 84 trips.' He highlighted that Turkey's geographical location offers advantages for both domestic and international train tours, with regular train tours being organized from the 1990s to the mid-2000s.

Uraloğlu emphasized that the Eastern Express, which runs along the Ankara-Kars route, presents a high-quality and distinctive holiday option suitable for passengers of all ages, particularly appealing to young people, nature enthusiasts, and photography groups.

The minister also noted that the Touristic Eastern Express has gained significant popularity in recent years, attracting travel enthusiasts of various ages and nationalities.

He elaborated on the schedule, saying, 'The Touristic Eastern Express will depart from Ankara on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and from Kars on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, totaling 84 trips for the season, with 42 in the Ankara-Kars direction and 42 in the Kars-Ankara direction.'

Uraloğlu explained that the train comprises eight sleeping cars and a dining car, accommodating up to 160 passengers. Tickets for six of the eight sleeping cars will be available through travel agencies, while Turkish State Railways will sell tickets individually for the remaining two cars.

Furthermore, in addition to the Eastern Express, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Turkish Travel Agencies Association, non-governmental organizations, travel agencies, and relevant institutions will collaborate to provide support for tourism-oriented trains on new routes within the country, depending on demand and feasibility.
