Palandöken Ski Resort, with its revamped slopes and upscale amenities, is poised to be the earliest destination for winter sports enthusiasts in Turkey this season, set to open its doors on November 29, as per the latest information from Anadolu Agency (AA).

Nestled in the Erzurum province, this ski center offers an array of recreational activities, from zip lines to paragliding and expansive swings, making it a preferred choice for skiing aficionados. Alongside its internationally standardized ski tracks and five-star accommodations, Palandöken provides convenient access to the airport, just 20 kilometers away, and the city center, a mere 4 kilometers distant.

Distinguished by its 55 tracks spanning one to 14 kilometers, Palandöken caters to night skiing enthusiasts and guarantees an uninterrupted skiing experience with both natural and artificial snow.

Mayor Mehmet Sekmen emphasized the city's commitment to investing in Palandöken and Konaklı ski resorts, assuring the public of the safety measures in place and dispelling concerns about avalanche risks. Sekmen highlighted the extensive network of tracks, nearing 100 kilometers in total, and a unique sledding center with a one-kilometer length and seven-meter width.

Anticipating a surge in tourism, Sekmen expressed confidence in attracting 2.5 million visitors this year, attributing the appeal to the quality and excellence of the ski resort.

Comparing Erzurum to other cities and ski destinations, Sekmen emphasized the city's distinction in terms of slope length, safety, snow quality, proximity of the airport, scenic beauty, and the allure of night skiing.

Recent measurements by AA revealed a substantial snow depth of 74 centimeters at Palandöken as of Monday.

Simultaneously, Erciyes Ski Resort, another prominent winter haven, is gearing up to welcome visitors with 19 mechanical facilities and 112 kilometers of interconnected ski slopes. Zafer Akşehirlioğlu, the general manager of Kayseri Erciyes A.Ş., assured thorough preparations for the upcoming season, prioritizing skiers' safety through slope maintenance, facility overhauls, and snowmaking unit checks.

The Keltepe Ski Center, situated on Keltepe mountain in the northern Black Sea province of Karabük, commissioned by the Youth and Sports Ministry three years ago, is set to kick off its new season in the last week of December. Positioned at an altitude of 2,000 meters, the center boasts chairlifts and baby lift systems, offering a promising start to the season after recent snowfall in the region.
