In response to a presidential decree signed by Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on December 22 2024 , has recently eliminated tourism visa requirements for six additional nations, including the United States and Canada. This development, somewhat discreetly announced in the Turkish Official Gazette on December 23, extends to tourists from the U.S., Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Canada, Oman, and Saudi Arabia. As a result of this change, citizens from these six countries can now enjoy a 90-day stay in Turkey within any 180-day period without the necessity of obtaining a travel visa. This decision reflects Turkey's broader initiative to enhance international relations and facilitate travel accessibility. Notably, prior to this amendment, visitors from the U.S. were required to obtain an e-visa, costing approximately $20, for tourism or trade purposes in Turkey.
