Turkey's popular tourist spots to visit during your breaks

As the semester break approaches, travelers, both local and international, are eagerly selecting captivating destinations for their holidays. Among these sought-after spots are Abant Lake National Park in Bolu, the historic houses of Safranbolu, the tourism hub of Sakarya - Sapanca, and the picturesque blend of history and nature in Amasra.

    Safranbolu:
Nestled in Karabük, Safranbolu entices visitors with 65% of its land covered in lush forests. A UNESCO World Heritage site, it boasts historical mansions, inns, baths, mosques, fountains, and bridges dating back to the Ottoman period. The district, featuring well-preserved three-story mansions from the 18th to 20th centuries, is preparing for the semester break, with boutique hotels in restored mansions experiencing an 85% occupancy rate. Safranbolu's strategic location seamlessly blends history, nature, and culture, making it easily accessible from various parts of Türkiye. Additionally, the Keltepe Ski Center has opened the ski season, attracting skiing enthusiasts.

    Abant Lake National Park:
Approximately 35 kilometers from the city center, Abant Lake National Park offers a serene escape with its white-covered forest area and opportunities for picnics and ice-skating on the lake. As the semester break approaches, two hotels in the area are in high demand, reaching an impressive 90% occupancy rate.

    Sapanca:
Nestled in Sakarya, Sapanca is renowned for its scenic landscapes, lake, and recreational offerings. With proximity to Ankara and Istanbul, the city is a preferred destination for both local and international tourists. Accommodation options, including hotels, bungalows, tiny houses, villas, hostels, and "bubble houses," are fully booked, with visitors indulging in holiday fun with activities like zip lines, ATV tours, and boat rides. Sapanca Tourism Association President Berrin Yılmazer confirmed that all accommodation places in Sapanca were booked for the semester break.

    Amasra:
Situated in the Bartın district, Amasra stands out for its historical charm, natural wonders, and delectable cuisine. Boasting artifacts from various historical periods, Amasra remains a favorite among holidaymakers. The district is also a center of attention for daily visitors during the winter season, with the semester break providing an opportunity to revel in the beauty, savor fresh fish at seafood restaurants, and prepare for the upcoming summer season, as highlighted by Mete Ayyıldız, vice president of the Amasra Culture and Tourism Association.
