    Turkey's Mesopotamia Express Tour Review

    The Mesopotamia Express has concluded its promotional journey, traversing Türkiye's inner, eastern, and southeastern Anatolian regions. Starting from Ankara, the train made stops at Kayseri, Malatya, Elazığ, and Diyarbakır approximately a day later, allowing passengers to relish the natural beauty and explore the cities during breaks.

    Mehmet Kaya, president of the Diyarbakır Chamber of Commerce and Industry, emphasized tourism's importance as a key asset for the city. He highlighted the Mesopotamia Express as a significant boon for promoting tourism, stating that it would showcase the country's beauties from Ankara to Diyarbakır, benefiting the cities along the route.

    Mehmet Çoban, a participant from Izmir, praised the journey's comfort and its enriching experiences in different cities, affirming that it was enjoyable for everyone. Didem Hazıray, traveling with a friend, likened the tour to a nostalgic journey through time, expressing her delight in fulfilling a long-standing plan.

    Helin Gözde Yılmaz, who traveled from Istanbul, fulfilled her desire for such a tour, highlighting the distinct charm of train travel. She encouraged others to experience it, expressing interest in future tours.

    The services are set to begin on April 19, with the first departure from Ankara and the return journey from Diyarbakır on April 21. The Mesopotamia Express comprises nine sleeping cars and one dining carriage, accommodating 180 passengers each. Two-person sleeping arrangements cost TL 9,000 ($280) for the outbound journey and TL 8,000 ($250) for the return journey.

    The cabins feature convertible seats, along with amenities such as a refrigerator, sink, wardrobe, lighting, and heating, catering to travelers' needs. With three-hour stops in Kayseri and Malatya and a four-hour stop in Elazığ, the touristic train promises a delightful journey amidst picturesque landscapes, expected to boost the region's economy, particularly in Diyarbakır.​
