Heybeliada is the second largest island in the Prince Archipelago (aka Adalar) and its beauty is indescribable and is currently one of the main tourist destinations in Turkey and the city of Istanbul. The Prince Islands are one of the most pristine places in the world for fun and leisure, and tourists and even the people of Turkey refer to them as paradises on earth. Today these islands are the most attractive part of any Istanbul tour.

The island includes archeological sites such as the Naval Cadet and Karmariotisa, the only surviving Byzantine church on the island and the last church built before the conquest of Istanbul.
On this island, there are restaurants, cafes and a hotel that add to its beauty and you can enjoy delicious food along with the beauties of the Marmara Sea.
Places of interest in this area include a monastery in the southwest of the island, which belongs to the reign of St. George VIII, which was later dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

It is interesting to note that the kings during the Byzantine Empire, which has been around for thousands of years, originally used these remote areas as exiles. The kings of the Ottoman Empire also used them for the same purposes due to the location of these islands. At present, these islands are among the most visited places in Turkey and they contribute a lot to Turkey's economy.
The size of the different parts of the Prince Archipelago is not the same and therefore not all of them are of interest to tourists, but Buyuk Ada and Heybeli Ada are of interest to many tourists due to their size and beauty.
It may be interesting to you that without the Ottoman Empire's approach to converting old churches into mosques, it did not affect the buildings on Istanbul's Heybeli Island in any way.
Just as we mentioned the old churches as one of the most spectacular places on our trip to Buick Ada, there are many Orthodox churches on Heybeliada.
I should add that the pristine nature of Heybeli Island in Istanbul is very attractive for tourists and you will encounter historical monuments from the very beginning of getting off the ships and entering the area. For example, at the beginning of the route, you will encounter a large naval school of the Turkish Navy. Another historical and scenic site on Heybeli Island is the last church built during the Byzantine Empire. During the winter, due to the cold weather, only 3,000 people live on the island, but during the summer, the owners of villas and summer houses return to the island, so the population of Heybeli Island in Istanbul increases to about 10,000 people.
Cycling is one of the most enjoyable activities on the island and you can travel all around the island with it.
To reach this island you must board the ships located at Kabatash or Kadikoy.
This island is located after Kinali Island. To board passenger ships you must use the Istanbul Card.
