Being a student is hard, especially if you are living in a foreign country. If that foreign country is Turkey, and you don't have a full scholarship, you might realize that you can not keep up with the inflation and have to work. But, can you work as a student in Turkey in 2023?

There are a couple of laws when it comes to working as a student in Turkey in 2023. We are going to discuss them with you here:
    • Students are only allowed to work up to 30 hours a week while studying
    • As a foreign student, you are not permitted to work in government and private companies in Turkey.
    • In 2023, if you are an MA and PhD student, you can only work if you have a work permit.
    • You are not allowed to work during your first year as an Associate degree student.
    • Associate degree students, who have a scholarship while studying, can not get a work permit even after they are finished with their university. MA and PhD students, however, can obtain a work permit.
    • You have to be 18 years old to be able to work while a student in Turkey.
    • If you want to apply for work permit, your student permit must not be expired.
    • PhD and MA students can work almost with no restrictions while studying in Turkey.
Turkey can be a bit tricky for work. Obtaining a work permit seems near impossible in certain fields. Hopefully, knowing these rules will help you as a student in Turkey.
