    The number of foreign students in Turkey has multiplied since 2016; The statistics of 154,505 foreign students in the 2018-2019 academic year are proof of this.     Turkey's educational system
    Primary education (Ilk Ogertim) in Turkey starts at the age of seven and lasts for eight years, then high school begins. The duration of primary and high school education courses is 11 to 12 years. The high school course includes the humanities, mathematics, physics, technology, and experimental sciences. After completing the elementary course, it is possible to continue high school education in the fields of science, religion and vocational schools, and the duration of education in these fields is usually 12 years. At the end of high school, students are awarded a diploma (Lise Diplomasi).

    College education
    ‌To enter universities and higher education centers in Turkey, it is necessary to have a high school diploma and pass the national entrance examination. Exam courses include math, physics, chemistry, general information and intelligence. Admission of students to universities is also based on the rank of the candidates in the national exam.

    Admission to postgraduate (master's and doctoral) courses in Turkey is almost the same, and students must have an ALES or GRE transcript in addition to a certified transcript, an English language diploma (TOEFL or IELTS). Also, students applying for doctoral studies are required to submit a proposal.

    Yuksek Lisans Diplomasi: Includes two years of full-time study. To enter this course, you must have a Lisans Diplomasi degree. This course includes two semesters of the classroom and two semesters of the research dissertation.

    Veterner Hekimligi Yuksek Lisans Diplomasi: Includes five years of full-time veterinary education after a high school diploma.

    DOKTORA (Ph.D.): Includes three to four years of full-time education. To enter this course you must have a Yuksek Lisans Diplomasi degree. This course includes two to four semesters of the classroom and at least four semesters of research. Before starting the research, the student must successfully pass the community exam. Writing a doctoral dissertation and successfully defending a research is a prerequisite for a doctoral degree.

    Student insurance
    One type of health insurance in Turkey is student insurance.
