E-scooters are a never ending topic in Istanbul. Every day new regulations are put in place after an other e-scooter related accident. There are fines put in place for misuse of e-scooters, where you can park the e-scooters in istanbul and so on. Now, after much debate on the subject, there is a new speed limit imposed for e-scooters in Istanbul.

the Istanbul Municipality Transportation Coordination Center (UKOME) has decided to reduce the speed limit for e-scooters from 20 km/h to 12.5 km/h in five of the city's districts with high pedestrian density. The speed limit currently affects the districts of Kadıköy, Şişli, Beşiktaş, Beyoğlu, and Fatih for electric scooters.
