Turkish residence cards are given to foreigners to show the right to live in Turkey. If your card gets stolen, or if you lost it, there are certain things that you must do.
First things first! do not panic and go to the nearest police station and file a Lost property report.
Then, you should head to the nearest tax department and pay the fees for the new card. Have some Lira with you! If you have lost a student residence permit, they will charge you 110 Liras. After you paid the fee, keep the receipt.
Finally, with the following document in hand, go to the immigration office and ask for a new card!
The documents:
• Police report
• Address registration certificate (See how to register your address here)
• Photocopy of your passport (first page, visa page and exit-entry pages)
• Your passport
• 2 Biometrics photographs
• The fee payment receipt
If everything goes well, hopefully they are gonna send your new residence card to your registered address.
