Turkey has some strict rules for driving. You must be aware of what is fine for drunk driving in Turkey. It also doesn't hurt to know Turkey's new driving fines for 2022.

Wearing a seatbelt is a standard in most of the countries these days. Turkey is also one of these countries. You are required by law to wear seatbelts in your car. this rule also applies to your passengers.

In order to increase the safety of the roads and decrease the traffic accident casualties, Turkey is passing a new law which will go into effect shortly. Under the new rules, You will be required to wear seatbelts while using public transportation as well. This includes buses and mini buses as well as taxies! Buses and minibuses now have to have seatbelts for children as well.

Although they don't have seatbelts, motorcycles, bicycles and e-scooters are affected by this new law as well. Riders of these transportation vehicles will be required to wear helmets and eye protective glasses. Bicycle, e-scooter and motorcycle riders will also be required to wear high-visibility vests while riding at night.

The authorities are also talking about mandating the high-visibility vest for car drivers and passengers too. It will be required to wear the high-visibility vests when you pull over and exit the vehicle.

New laws, as cringy as they seem to be, could be the line between life and death. Also its useful to know that insurance companies have a tendency not to pay out if the passenger was not wearing seatbelts in the time of the accident. so, wearing the seatbelt could save your wallet too i guess.
